The Rose Knows
Rose is probably the first essential oil ever distilled from a flower (10th century Persia). Also called "The Queen of Oils", it is known for its excellence in skincare. Although useful for all skin types, it's especially suited to dry and mature skin. This formula is also fortified with: Rosewood for dry, mature or sensitive skin; Rose Geranium for its soothing properties; PalmaRosa for its hydrating abilities, while Elemi tones and rejuvenates and Lavender soothes and stimulates natural cell growth. Warning: Rose oil is a reputed aphrodisiac.

All That Jazzmine
Jasmine ("The King of Oils"), also a traditional aphrodisiac (why else would these flowers be used so extensively in perfumery?), is particularly good for hot, dry and sensitive skin. Also contains: Ylang (Oh, my word, another aphrodisiac!) balances both dry and oily skin types; Palmarosa refreshes and helps hydrate while Frankincense helps tone skin.

Holi Neroli
Neroli, derived from the flowers of the bitter orange, is named after an Italian princess who used it as her favourite perfume. It is highly valued for its skincare properties and is particularly useful for dry, sensitive skin. Holi Neroli also contains: Orange which tones the skin; Petitgrain which refreshes; Elemi and Frankincense help tone and rejuvinate mature skin. (By the way, Holi Neroli gets its name from 1) the fact that the whole orange tree can be found in this formula: blossom, fruit, leaves and twigs and 2) its hauntingly ethereal aroma.)

A Few Words about Jojoba and Fractionated Coconut oils
Both resist oxidation and therefore have a very long shelf life. They need no added preservatives. Both are non-tacky and non-greasy and absorb easily into the skin. Jojoba is silky while Coconut is very light in texture. Each is an excellent moisturizer in its own right, therefore complementing the effects of the essential oils in each formula.

Flower Aromas and Spirituality
A plant's perfume or aroma is its most ethereal attribute. It can't be seen, touched or eaten. In classical Greek "essential oil" literally translates into "ethereal oil". Some believe that plant, and especially flower (the highest expression of the plant) aromas, act as a bridge between the physical body and the soul. Think about it: do you not feel transported or elevated when you smell a rose? Also, is it simply coincidence that the flower perfumes designed to bring two persons into physical union are also regarded as links to the spirit?
